I’ve always been mesmerized by the beauty and mysteriousness of peacocks. The spectrum of blues and greens and their towering spread of feathers make them seem so majestic. I was even a peacock for Halloween a couple of years ago {apparently I was a step ahead of this year’s peacock trend}. The key to pulling off this look is playing off of the colors of the peacock, throwing in one or two neutrals, and choosing just one piece or two that is an obvious imitation of the peacock.

Best Moments of 2011

Happy New Year!!

2011 was a year I will never forget and although I’m sad that it’s over, I’m excited to set goals and see what 2012 will bring.

Some of the biggest highlights of 2011 for me…

-Running my first half marathon {and reaching my secret time goal which was to run it in under 2 hours}

-Spending my summer in Charlotte, NC and interning at Nordstrom

-Living in Florence, Italy for 4 months and traveling all over Europe

I can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store, and I’m crossing fingers that the end of the world is not included.

Some goals for 2012…

Run another half marathon {and beat last year’s time}

Travel to a new state

Because I missed Thanksgiving in 2011 and am still not totally over it, my family is having “Fakesgiving” today {I must credit this term to my friend Lauren who just celebrated this holiday last week with her family}. But because it’s the first of the year and I would like to be off to a good start, I’m making it a “healthy Fakesgiving.” We’re going to have a turkey, some vegetables, and this winter squash and apple soup.
